Ron Jeremy

Jeremy, pseudonym of Ronald Jeremy Hyatt, is an American former pornographic actor and actor born on March 12, 1953 in Queens, New York. Nicknamed “The Hedgehog” for his stocky physique, bushy mustache and fluff, he has become one of the most iconic and prolific figures in the history of American porn. Before entering the adult industry, Jeremy graduated from Queens College and worked as a special education teacher, caring for children with disorders and autism. His entry into the world of porn was accidental: in 1978 a girlfriend sent a nude photo of him to Playgirl for the “Boy Next Door” column. The success among readers led to proposals from hardcore directors, and Jeremy accepted driven by curiosity, the desire for fame and the possibility of making money quickly. He debuted in the late 1970s and has amassed over 2,000 films as a performer and hundreds as a director, a world record certified by the Guinness Book of World Records. In the 80s and 90s, he became a superstar thanks to his charismatic, humorous personality and ability to make the genre accessible. He has also participated in mainstream films such as The Boondock Saints, Detroit Rock City and Reindeer Games, and has had a dedicated documentary (Porn Star: The Legend of Ron Jeremy, 2001). Inducted into the AVN Hall of Fame and XRCO Hall of Fame, he helped bring porn to popular culture. His career was interrupted around 2018 due to health problems and criminal charges (for which he was declared incapable due to dementia).
